Where Is The Louis Vuitton Factory In France? Answered

Louis Vuitton now has over 10 production facilities in France. Their latest leather production factory opened in 2019 in Beaulieu-sur-Layon. These facilities primarily manufacture the leather goods under the brand.

Although the initial headquarters for Louis Vuitton was established in Paris in 1854, the brand quickly outgrew the facility and therefore was forced to expand to the outskirts of Paris. The brand is now manufacturing its leather products, footwear, jewellery, and sunglasses all over France.

The locations of French Louis Vuitton factories include Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule, Condé, Vendôme, Cergy and several in and around Paris. In total, there are around 4,000 factories around the world that manufacture Louis Vuitton’s fashion products.

Can You Visit The Louis Vuitton Factory?

The Louis Vuitton factories are not open to the public often. You can however visit their flagship store and museum in Asnieres-sur-Seine. People who have visited in the past have said that the queues for the store are very long and people queue from about 9 am when the doors only open at 10 am.

The store is also an exhibition centre that showcases some of the stunning creations manufactured and designed by Louis Vuitton throughout history. The store is set in a classic french home and complements the live exhibition perfectly.

Unfortunately, none of the factories in operation anywhere in the world are open for the public to visit, although rarely events do take place where it may be possible to see inside part of an LV factory.

Where Are Louis Vuitton Products Made?

All Louis Vuitton products are made in certain countries in Europe and some are produced in the USA. If you have a piece of Luis Vuitton’s that says “made in China”, we’re sorry to say that you do not have a genuine piece.

Louis Vuitton has never granted manufacturing rights to factories in China, therefore factories there are not allowed to make genuine pieces. Other than the “made in” stamp, there are several other ways you can identify a fake Louis Vuitton. Some of the ways include looking at the shape, materials, quality of the stitching and any stamps.

Leather Goods

Louis Vuitton is famous for making stunning handbags and luggage from some of the best-sourced leather. Louis Vuttion patterns on their leather hand bags are some of the most luxurious and recognisable in the fashion world. LV are famous for their EPI, Vernis and Empreinte leather goods, many of which are designed and stamped with the famous monogram pattern.

All Louis Vuitton leather goods are manufactured in either France, Spain, or the United States of America.

Footwear and Ready-To-Wear

We all know the Italians have mastered the art of shoemaking. That’s why the footwear and ready-to-wear items, designed by Louis Vuitton are made both in Italy and France. Controversially, in 2017 it became known that LV were having the soles of their footwear made in Romania before being exported to France or Italy to be finished.

Many fashionistas were unhappy about this revelation because of the brands claims that they use the finest Italian and French craftsmanship to sculpt these luxury high priced shoes

Watches

In true Louis Vuitton fashion, their timepieces are highly exclusive and made at the timepiece workshop in Geneva, Switzerland. The brand have only been making watches for around 20 years, so they are an upstart in the watch world. Having their luxury timepieces made in the watch capital of the world, Switzerland, should set them up for a prestigious future.

Jewellery

Louis Vuitton’s exquisite jewellery is manufactured in three countries across Europe. Authentic Louis Vuitton jewellery and accessories are manufactured in either France, Italy, or Switzerland. Lorenz Baumer was a French designer, who crafted Lv’s iconic Voyage dans le temps jewellery collection. Francesca Amfitheatrof has designed LV’s recent jewellery collections and is launching her own line of jewellery.

Sunglasses

Finally, those fabulous Louis Vuitton shades are made in France and Italy. They cater for any style and attempt to make any outfit more elegant. Thelios eyewear studio manufacturers most LV eyewear. Thelios are located in Italy in the most beautiful location near the dolomite mountains. You’ll definitely want to make sure your vision is good to admire the scenery here.

Louis Vuitton – Authentically French

Louis Vuitton has been one of the pinnacles of french fashion brands since it burst onto the scene in 1854. It’s, therefore, no surprise that they have kept most of their manufacturing facilities in France.

Checking the place of manufacture stamp on a Louis Vuitton product is one of the easiest ways to tell whether or not the piece is genuine or not. Remember, an authentic Louis Vuitton piece can come from France, Spain, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.

LV make their products in a number of different countries, with France being one of the main countries the brands products are crafted in. When you hear the name Louis Vuitton you think of the classic, elegant and effortless designs that are the trademark of French fashion and it’s reassuring to know there’s a good chance your LV bag has been crafted in one of the European homes of fashion.
