Plexaderm Review l Will they make your skin younger ?

The cosmetics industry offers a wide range of products that help us to look attractive and healthy. Today, you can find products for more specific needs. For example, cosmetics against acne or pigmentation, cosmetics for sensitive or oily skin, anti-ageing cosmetics, and many more.

In this article, we will have a look at Plexaderm , a major player in the anti-ageing industry. It is a US cosmetics brand that is widely known as the brand is often advertised on TV. This review will take a close look at Plexaderm to give you more information about the brand and a summary of Plexaderm reviews. Plexaderm offer products to fight fine lines, eye bags, dark circles and wrinkles around your eyes.

Plexaderm sell a number of anti ageing beauty products but I want to review their rapid eye reduction serum. This is the brands most well known and interesting formula. I want to consider how it might help your eye bags, dark circles and other wrinkles on the thin sensitive skin around your eyes.

What is plexaderm & who is it for?

Plexaderm is an anti-aging serum aimed to reduce the visibility of dark circles, eye bags, and wrinkles. According to the manufacturer company, Sheer science, the effect starts working 10 minutes after applying it and lasts for about 10 hours.

The serum can be used by people of all sexes with all skin tones. However, the effects last less than usual if you have oily skin.  One bottle lasts for 30 days; yet, some reviews on the Internet state that one needs to apply the product twice a day for better results.

Plexaderm can be used with cosmetics, such as liners, mascaras, eyeshadows, and blush. However, one should avoid applying liquid foundation onto the areas where Plexaderm has been applied; make-up containing oil lessens its effect.

In general, Plexaderm skincare includes several products: peppermint exfoliating cleanser, pads, cream, gel, hyaluronic moisturizer, and nighttime collagen peptide serum. Still, the most widely advertised product is the Rapid Reduction Serum. Therefore, we will focus on its ingredients.

Plexaderm ingredients

The ingredients that are used in the rapid eye reduction serum are widely used in cosmetics. I like that they use a number of non-toxic ingredients, but they aren’t all non-toxic ingredients. I recently compared Beauty counter and Crunchi which are 2 makeup brands that really focus on being non-toxic in all their ingredients.

Propylene Glycol has several functions. It is a solvent, skin conditioning agent, viscosity decreasing agent, and fragrance ingredient. It is nontoxic and noncarcinogenic, however, it may cause skin irritation.

Sodium Silicate controls the pH level of cosmetics and skincare. It is used to protect from metallic packaging and corrosion.

Magnesium Aluminum Silicate is a synthetic silicate clay that claims to improve the texture and stability of your skins moisture levels. Its easily absorbed and is supposed to allow other ingredients to apply smoothly and efficiently, with no chemical reactions. Magnesium aluminium silicate is used widely in beauty products and doesn’t have any proven effect on your skin and is used to create a thicker consistency in beauty products.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, or Argireline, is commonly used in anti-aging cosmetics. It is proven to have similar results to Botox; however, it does not get rid of wrinkles properly due to poor skin permeation.

Hydrolyzed Rice Protein is a gluten-free product that improves skin moisture.

Soluble Collagen makes the skin soft and firm and gives it a more healthy and youthful texture. It is proven to be safe for humans.

Cellulose Gum is aimed to improve skin appearance. It is a thickening agent, and thanks to it, you can feel a thin film that pulls the skin.

Xanthan Gum is an emulsion stabilizer, skin conditioning agent, and surfactant. It thickens, binds, and emulsifies a product. Xanthan Gum is a popular ingredient among green beauty brands because it is naturally derived.

Titanium Dioxide filters out harmful UV rays and serves as a whitening agent. It is safe for use.

Cl 77491, Cl77492 are yellow and red iron dioxides. They are aimed to bring color shades for the product.

Phenoxyethanol prevents bacterial growth. Yet, it causes severe eye irritation. A product that contains this component should not ever be swallowed!

Ethylhexylglycerin is one more skin conditioning agent and a preservative. It can cause some irritation.

How does Plexaderm rapid reduction serum work?

To work correctly, one should apply the Plexaderm rapid eye reduction serum carefully and appropriately. Here are some step by step instructions:

  • Wash and dry your skin.
  • Dispense a small amount of serum to one’s fingertip. Manufacturers recommend starting with the size of half pea. If the pump does not work, one should press it 10 times until the serum begins to flow.
  • Apply the thin layer to targeted areas.
  • Wait for 10 minutes. Within this time, the serum will set and dry in one’s skin.

For better results, you can use Plexaderm moisturizer. Make sure you do so 15-20 minutes before applying the serum.

Are there any side effects

No harmful side effects have been widely reported, but we recommend doing a patch test first. There might be some irritation for some skin types; especially dry and sensitive skin.

Some users report seeing a white residue on their skin after applying Plexaderm products, but this means the product is being used too much.

The manufacturer advises removing it using a cotton ball or a damp cloth. Another issue that may bother some clients is that wrinkles can look worse after applying the product. In this case, again, too much substance was used, which led to skin being too tight. The manufacturers recommend washing the product off and reapplying it.

Other disadvantages Plexaderm has are the following:

No long-term results.

Even the manufacturers admit that the results are temporary. The product’s main website says that the shale clay forms a temporary tightening layer on the skin. Also, Plexaderm does not serve as a long-term solution to healthy skin aging. It means that one will have to buy the product repeatedly to temporarily lessen skin aging.

Possible need to apply the product twice.

Some reviews and customers’ comments state that the product does not work when applied once. However, one should note that it depends on the way the serum was used.

Synthetic ingredients.

Some of the ingredients serve as skin irritants. For example, aluminum Silicate can be neurotoxic; Sodium Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, and Ethylhexylglycerin can cause skin irritation or contact dermatitis.

Expensive.

This should be taken into account, as the product itself has nothing special or unique in its structure. Yet, its price is higher than of other similar products. For example, one bottle costs $59.95, but Glé Skincare for Wrinkles costs $39.99, or Boscia Indigo Eye Cream is $38. So, Glé Skincare contains vitamins E, B3, B5, and oil, like Jojoba Seed and Tinctorius Seed. Boscia Indigo Eye Cream also has many types of oil, like Sweet Almond Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, and Avocado Oil.

Plexaderm review – is it a waste of money or not?

Whether the Plexaderm rapid eye reduction serum is a good product or not, you need to try it; some people love it, some – not. My biggest concern with the rapid eye reduction serum is that its effects are not long-lasting.

This is something I find it difficult to accept, but most anti-ageing products aren’t going to give long lasting effects. This is because their ingredients usually nourish and protect the thin layer of skin around your eye rather than being able to remove eye bags for a long time.

Plexaderm seems to have grown in popularity and I think part of this is because of their marketing efforts. A lot of users do see short term effects on their eye bags and dark circles but the effects will stop if you aren’t applying the formula.

Their ingredients list included collagen but doesn’t have any innovative ingredients. I like to see a more natural approach to anti-ageing products aswell and I feel like Plexaderm don’t offer an exciting blend that really makes me want to part with my money. Plexaderm reviews across a range of different platforms including amazon and other beauty stores, are very mixed.

Not many users report significant side effects, some swear by the formula and are happy with the results whereas others see no signs of wrinkle reduction or less eye bags and dark circles. If you are looking for a new eye cream I’d suggest taking a look at La Mer and Valmont for a more exciting but expensive blend or consider drunk elephants more natural approach to beauty.
