Luxury fashion products are what truly make me feel special and my eyes light up and glow each and every time I buy even the smallest luxury accessory. Prada and Versace have both made my face glow a gentle red as I smile with joy after purchasing sunglasses, handbags and clothing items from both brands.
As a brand, Prada have a long history, beginning with suitcases and handbags and establishing boutiques early in the 20th century. This history give Prada a more iconic name than Versace who are a relative newcomer in the luxury fashion world.
Versace were established in 1978 and quickly established their luxury status. I’ve noticed in the past year that Versace have made significant steps towards raising the status of their brand and gaining greater recognition in the luxury world.
I’m going to give you a quick glimpse of some of my favourite products and then I’ll show you the different items each brand sell and compare what I think of them so you can choose whether buying Prada or Versace is best for you.

Prada and Versace have created many stylish sunglasses. When comparing Versace and Prada sunglasses we found Versace make use of lots of unusual lines and hexagonal shapes.
Prada also offer sunglasses with lots of interesting angled frames but they tend to focus on the more traditional curved styles rather than bold straight lines.
In the Versace women’s sunglasses collection I was drawn to the hexagonal lines and two silver Versace logos on the elegant and futuristic VE2182 glasses. For men, the VE2163 aviator shades are very sleek and cool, with thick black arms contrasting beautifully with the gold Versace logo.
Prada eye wear collections often use lots of brown and Havana style colours, with the iconic subtle leopard print gradient, but also come in black. I find the black colour tones don’t show off the interesting curves on the PR 32 PS sunglasses half as well as the brown gradient does.
The Prada Linea Rossa PS 53 PS men’s sunglasses offer a similar design to the Versace men’s aviators but the design is a little more refined and sleek.
Prada Handbags that I like
Both Versace and Prada have a great reputation for their handbag designs. Versace have made big steps towards creating innovative new designs in the last year but Prada have many iconic timeless designs that are as beautiful as some of the timeless Gucci and Louis Vuitton bags but also match the modern trendy styles that Coach and Gucci’s luxury purses offer. Prada’s Bibliotheque Tote Saffiano city bag in the two tones of maroon and beige is beautiful. You can use the strap if you prefer the cross body style, but I love to hold this bag tight, when I’m having a fine dining experience or wearing my favourite classy floral dress. The quality of leather is obvious and the design is very sleek and doesn’t look to stand out but the absolute quality draws your eyes to this bag and hold them there until you notice the fine detailing of the stitching and minimalist gold Prada logo.

This petal pink shade is a luscious and delicate tone of pink. I adore the mini bag size and the delicate and cute lock and key closure is such a beautiful touch that makes me want to hold this bad all day long and feel gorgeous and feminine. I believe Prada could win the heart of all you beautiful feminine princesses around the world with this bag.
Versace handbags that I like
My impression of Versace is that their accessories and handbags always offer bold colour choices and unique modern style features that call for attention. Most girls I know either love or hate Versace bags because the designs are often so bold and ‘out there’ with lots going on that you really need to feel comfortable expressing yourself in this style if you are going to love their boldest bags. First i’ll show you a bag that you’ll instantly recognise as Versace and then I’ll show you one of their more delicate and subtle designs.

This large tote from Versace is the kind of bag you are unlikely to find designed by Prada. I’m drawn to the styling and colours because I love modern art and finding meaning in my fashion choices beyond the brand names I love. Usually I won’t wear an item of clothing or accessory with such a strong floral design but Versace manage to create a real piece or art with this design that doesn’t stand out as being floral in the usual way.
The Versace jeans couture tote bag somehow doesn’t overwhelm you with the blending of colours and offers a large inner pocket and double strap shoulder strap. I’m torn between loving and hating this bag but to really compare Prada vs Versace bag designs isn’t possible without showing you Versace’s bold vision for shaping the future of fashion.

This bright and beautiful shade of red is perfectly in season for the spring and summer. I love the big simple design that manages to include a large Versace logo without drawing any attention to is as it blends into the main body of the bag. The leather is soft and there are 6 diamond studs on each side of the bag, two connecting the handle to the main bag and two alongside the raised logo. If you love Versace but don’t have a bold fashion style, this is the perfect summer bag.
Comparing Versace vs Prada perfumes
Versace and Prada both sell some lovely scents. Prada have a much smaller collection but when they do release a new perfume it is usually the best quality whereas Versace offer a wider range of very different scents. Choosing a favourite between Prada and Versace perfume collections is challenging. I’ll show you my favourite perfume from each brand so you can see which you like best.

Describing perfume scents is something I’ve never been good at. I know when I love a scent and Bright crystal has a fruity smell with a hint of pomegranate that really appeals to me. It’s definitely a light feminine scent and it brings to mind juicy summer fruits and has me licking my lips every time I smell it. The bottle is made of the most beautiful glass and the top is a large and detailed crystal design that is super luxurious and girly and i’d probably buy this perfume for the bottle alone.

Prada Candy has a warm and sweet scent that smells like a more sophisticated trip to a candy shop. When I heard about Prada Candy I thought it was going to be too girly and sweet but the sweet scent is still fresh and isn’t too strong. As you’d expect from Prada the bottle has a stand-out unique design that offers luxury in an unusual way, with a bold gold stand out Prada logo.
A comparison of Prada and Versace Men’s aftershave
Prada and Versace offer some powerful aftershave scents that I love. Let’s take a look at my two favourites that each offer a completely different scent experience.

Luna Rossa Carbon is quite a mature evening fragrance that lasts for many hours. The bottle is a sophisticated and sleek design that gives off a masculine vibe. If you like a strong sophisticated scent that develops nicely with some interesting scents you’ll enjoy this popular offering from Prada.

When comparing Versace Eros with Prada Luna Rossa the first feature that stood out to me was the beautiful Versace style unique bottle design on the Eros aftershave. The design is stunning with an interesting aqua blue colour and maze like pattern that is one of my favourite after shave bottles I’ve ever seen. I love the sweet but masculine scent that includes citrus fruits, oak moss, vanilla and amber.
A final comparison between Prada and Versace
Comparing Prada vs Versace is a challenge because both brands offer a lot of different high quality luxury products.
When choosing between Versace and Prada’s sunglasses collections both brands make use of unique and fashionable styles. Versace VE2182 women’s sunglasses make use of some really cool and futuristic lines whereas Prada PR32 offer the more rounded and thick signature leopard print frame. For men you can find aviator style sunglasses from both brands but the Prada Men’s Linea Rossa glasses are my favourite men’s sunglasses.
Both brands offer a wide range of handbag designs ranging from funky original styles to luxury and sophisticated. Versace are the more adventurous with the out-there jeans couture multi colour artistic design and Prada tend to stick to the more timeless classic pieces including the beautiful mini petal pink cross body bag which i adore.
If you are looking for a unique perfume, Prada Candy offers a feminine scent that comes in a bold and colourful bottle and is my favourite choice across the two brands perfume offerings. When it comes to choosing between Versace and Prada aftershaves, Versace’s Eros aftershave comes in the most amazing luminous bottle that every man will love.
