Dime beauty offer the cheaper range of skincare products that look more expensive with their simple black bottle designs. Beauty Counter have a much younger and more feminine look that is surprising considering they sell many anti ageing peptide products in their collection.

Both dime beauty and beauty counter are similar with their business models that focus mainly on selling products through their own websites and partner program schemes. Members can earn commissions for selling the brands products so a lot of sales come through word of mouth and users promoting and recommending products to friends and family.

Dime beauty state that their mission is to sell clean, affordable and effective luxury skincare products. Sustainability, vegan and cruelty free ingredients sit high on their list of priorities when creating new products and sourcing ingredients.

Comparing Beauty Counter and Dime beauty moisturising creams

Moisturising is the part of my skincare routine I love the most. For me I like to moisturise to protect my skin before heading out for a days work but this is usual done in a rush. It isn’t until I come home, put my feet up on the sofa, take a warm bath and then spend 10 minutes massaging my face and applying moisturiser that I begin to really enjoy these meditative moments of self care.

I’ve compared Beauty Counter with many other skincare brands including a brand I really liked called Biossance, and found the tetra peptide supreme creme to be my favourite thick creamy moisturiser. Dime beauty most comparable product is their restorative night cream. They offer a light day moisturiser and anti ageing serum but it wouldn’t be fair to compare them with the much thicker supreme cream.

When I first saw this cream It didn’t really stand out but since looking more closely at the ingredients and how it feels to use, it’s grown on me. Beauty Counters supreme cream is a peptide cream. Peptides help stimulate your skin cells to create proteins. This can stimulate your skins natural collagen production giving it more elasticity while adding plumpness.

Cocoa seed butter is included in this formula and is one of the reasons why the consistency is thick. Cocoa seed butter is high on the comedogenic rating which means it’s not really suitable for oily skin as it can clog up your pores. It’s moisturising qualities are much better when soaked into dry skin.

Who Will like it and why

If you have dry skin or ageing skin and you don’t suffer with acne or have an oily skin type then try out this peptide cream. Peptides have been studied with some good results showing they have an effect on supporting your skins collagen production and can effectively pass your skins barrier with the right concentration. Supporting collagen production isn’t only necessary when your skin is already starting to age, its becoming more common in the skincare industry for ladies to begin to use peptides to try to improve their collagen production

We always associate a slowing down of our skins collagen production with getting old but when we are still young it can benefit us to help support our skin collagen production before it slows down. This might even slow down the signs of ageing if we use it as part of our daily skincare routine.

Dime Beauty Restorative night cream

Like, Beauty counters offering this cream also targets ageing skin but instead of using cocoa seed oil and peptides this formula contains cerimides. Cerimides are necessary in moisturisers because they are an emollient, which helps to keep your skin soft and smooth and should be found in any moisturiser ingredient list. Although this is labelled as a restorative night cream it isn’t so thick that you feel like its going to soak into your skin all night long. You can wear it in the daytime too.

Who will like it and why?

Those looking for a versatile moisturizer that works well for both day and night use will appreciate this cream. It’s perfect for those who want a cream that supports aging skin without feeling too heavy.

Bonus: Tips for Choosing the Right Skincare Products

Finding the perfect skincare products for your needs can be overwhelming. Here are a few tips to help you make the best decision:

  1. Determine your skin type: Knowing your skin type (normal, oily, dry, combination, or sensitive) will help you choose products that are specifically formulated for your needs.
  2. Identify your primary skin concerns: Are you dealing with acne, aging, hyperpigmentation, or dehydration? Look for products that target your specific concerns.
  3. Read ingredient lists: Familiarize yourself with beneficial ingredients (such as peptides, ceramides, and antioxidants) and avoid products that contain potential irritants or harmful ingredients.
  4. Test before you invest: Whenever possible, try samples or travel sizes of products before committing to full-size versions. This will help you determine if a product works well for your skin without breaking the bank.
  5. Be patient and consistent: Skincare products can take time to show results, so be patient and consistent with your routine. Give a new product at least a month to work its magic before deciding if it’s effective.
