I am going to compare two popular anti-ageing brands, RoC and Strivectin. Both brands have created a range of beauty products, mostly focusing on anti-ageing skin care formulas.
I am going to compare the different products the brands offer, including moisturisers, night, face and neck creams so you can see the similarities and differences between the ingredients, prices and products. I also recently wrote about my favourite Strivectin neck creams and reviewed some Roc eye creams.

A summary of ROC Skincare & their products
French pharmacist Dr. Jean-Charles Lissarrague, who was the first to create a hypoallergenic skincare formula at the Rogé Cavaillès pharmacy in 1957, believed in science based skincare that was innovative and made for every woman to look and feel their very best at any stage of life. This is the philosophy that RoC has built their empire on.
RoC has been working with dermatologists since the beginning, making sure each of their products are effective and safe. It has also let them advance and grow as science and technology has throughout the decades. A company like RoC is always looking to the future while excelling in the present, and it is their philosophy and drive that have led them to constantly being ahead of their time.
RoC created the first effective anti-aging SPF sunscreen, they were the first to successfully devise a retinol stabilising method, which is now a powerhouse ingredient in all the best anti-ageing skincare products. You want a brand that know what they’re doing? RoC has always been ahead of the curve for the last 60 years.
To sum up, this brand in itself, what it does, and the science behind it, is luxurious, but the prices are a lot humbler. Additionally, there aren’t a million products to choose from, which is quite refreshing. Each category has a few options within different price ranges to make sure there is something for everyone. This ensures quality and results.
A summary of Strivectin and their products
StriVectin is another one of those brands putting science at the forefront of their skincare. However, while RoC’s success is deeply rooted in their history, StriVectin is already living in the future with their patented NIA-114™ technology.
You heard right, StriVectin use a technology devised by them, to create their age battling formulas. Now that’s innovation!
So, let’s break this down a bit. NIA-114™ is their perfected form of Niacin and Vitamin B3 which works to effectively strengthen the skin barrier, which is the outermost layer of the skin, and protect it from the harm it endures every day. This can be anything from environmental factors, to stress, and general biological aging. However, NIA-114™ works to protect the skin barrier and leaves you with youthful skin.
The people and scientists behind StriVectin are truly remarkable, so you can be sure your skin is being taken care of. StriVectin are also a woke brand, as all their products are paraben and cruelty free. But with patented technology and a global recognition comes a price.
Comparing Strivectin and Roc night creams.
Strivectin offer a range of different night creams, but first lets take a look at the most similar product to Roc’s offerings. The Strivectin advanced retinol intensive night moisturiser is one of the few Strivectin products that contains the strong vitamin a retinol formula. Strivectin usually use their Nia-114 vitamin B formula but this night cream combines NIA-114 and retinol, with the brand saying that the NIA-114 formula helps balance out and reduce the negative side effects some people experience with retinol.
Roc’s most similar product is their retinol correxion deep wrinkle anti-ageing night cream. Roc’s night cream is much cheaper then Strivectin’s and offers retinoids to help fight the signs of ageing. Both brands night creams are good for sensitive skin but Strivectin intensive night moisturiser is a thicker formula that offers more moisture and skin protection overnight. With continued use both products can have a noticeable effect on wrinkles.
If you enjoy the sensation of oil on your skin, Strivectin also offer their popular starlight night cream. The NIA-114 formula is again used and this oil contains some skin protecting fatty acids with the addition of squalane oil and the protective astaxanthin, a skin care ingredient that boosts anti-oxidants and slows down the rate mositure is lost so your skin doesn’t dry out so quickly. Astaxanthin can work on wrinkles and also has some effect on collagen and skin elasticity. Roc don’t offer a night oil in their collection to compare this product with.
A comparison of Roc vs Strivectin neck creams
Roc’s best anti-ageing cream for your neck is the 5 in 1 neck, chest and face cream which has Spf-30 sun protection for daytime application and a hexyl-r complex which contains naturally occurring lipids. Lipidis are great for skincare because they are actually components found naturally in your skin, containing oils and fats which play a role in maintaining and strengthening your skins natural barrier against dirt and external pollutants while helping your skin stay moist.
I like products that contain lipids, not only because they are natural but because they also help even out my skin tone a little and reduce redness. This Roc 5 in 1 cream is thick, creamy and a small amount spreads over a large area of your skin with ease.
Strivectin offer one of the most luxurious, thick and creamy neck creams ever created. Their TL advanced tightening neck cream uses the brands NIA-114 formula for anti-ageing but combined with shea butter, liquorice root, ginger root and other natural extracts, the formula is lovely.
It most definitely isn’t a natural formula as it has been scientifically created, but does use some lovely ingredients. The aim of the cream is to tighten the sagging skin on your neck and hide those unwanted lines by attempting to tighten and lift the appearance of your neck skin. You’ll love the really thick and creamy mixture that is so thick it helps create a smooth layer of skin along your neck.
Roc vs Strivectin eye creams comparison
Strivectin offer an intensive eye concentrate that has been formulated to target wrinkles on the sensitive skin around your eyes. Most of the signs of ageing around our eyes are puffiness and under eye circles so any eye cream that offers some attempt at reducing these while not irritating this sensitive skin is a good one. Most people say that this cream helps hold moisture in the dry and sensitive under eye skin and also helps smooth out any under eye bags pretty well.
Strivectin also offer a stronger retinol eye cream if your skin can handle a more powerful formula which is likely to see better results but is more likely to cause irritation.
When compared with Strivectin’s eye cream, Roc’s Retinol correxion eye cream is another fabulous product in their Correxion line of anti-ageing skin care products. Roc say it targets crows feet, dark cirlces and puffiness and uses the strong retinal formula. There is a light scent to this eye cream and it can be applied and works well even under foundation.
Strivectin vs ROC price comparison
When comparing the prices of both brands products, please be aware that prices change regularly, with special offers often introduced, this is why we won’t give you an exact price. We will give you a rough idea of the price range the brands products can sometimes be found for but check yourself to see current prices.
Roc’s skincare is carefully, clinically, and scientifically crafted to perfection and their award-winning range of skincare is surprisingly affordable. In fact, their products and prices suit the everyday person, with everyday needs.
Their award-winning deep wrinkle daily moisturizer with 30 SPF sunscreen (Retinol Correxion line), essentially a multipurpose balm, can often be found for under 30 dollars. Products don’t really get much more expensive than this, with only their most expensive serums regularly hitting above the 30 dollar mark. The brands cheapest product, the daily cleansing pads are often available for less than the price of a cup of coffee.
StriVectin’s products are a little pricier. You can sometimes find their products on sale but be aware this is a luxury beauty brands. The brands cheapest product is a small 0.3 fl ounce award-winning tightening neck cream and their most expensive moisturizer can cost well over 100 dollars.
That’s quite a range, but just remember, you are paying for award winning, innovative, skin barrier protecting, quality skincare. Strivectin can charge these high prices for their anti-ageing formula because thet have built up a great reputation and and the brands innovative scientific formulas cost them a lot of money.
Final thoughts – Strivectin vs Roc – Who offers the best anti-ageing skin care products.
Strivectin and Roc both sell a range of skin care products that have been created to try and soften those unwanted lines around your eyes, reduce wrinkles, age spots and other signs of ageing that we love to try and reduce, hide and slow down.
Roc and Strivectin both use similar ingredients, with a focus on retinol and powerful anti-ageing ingredients. Strivectin is a luxury brand so they have invested much more in scientific innovation which is why they offer much more expensive products.
I can’t comment on the effects these products have on sensitive skin, because there are so many different skin types and peoples skin reacts differently to the same ingredients. I would always suggest applying a small amount on less – sensitive areas of your skin first, to see how any skincare product reacts before applying more widely.
If price wasn’t an issue I would choose Strivectin over Roc because they offer more luxury products with a wider range of higher end ingredients, but for the price both brands products offer good anti-ageing results.
