Supergoop vs Coola sunscreen comparison table
Who are Coola – Coola sunscreen review
Coola is a brand that embodies the Californian beach lifestyle, placing it into a summer breeze blue bottle and adding it to their organic sunscreen collection.
The brands classic face sunscreen offers high factor sun protection with fantastic refreshing cucumber like scents that are all organic and feature the brands Farm to Face patented formula that protects from UVA and UVP rays with SPF 50 sun protection factor.
The Coola classic face sunscreen is a dream to apply because its thin lightweight formula melts quickly into the warm surface of your skin and disappears creating an invisible layer of protection without those uneven white patches ruining your look.
It took me some time to adjust to these lightweight sunscreen formulas because I have sensitive skin and love a combination of moisturiser and sunscreen.
Now i’m used to it, I like the invisible formulas that take much less effort to soak into your skin but still offer high sun protection factors.
Some of its benefits are:
SPF 70 sun protection
Coola also offer a spray on sun screen. The easy spray application provides for an even coating and no mess. Coola does also offer a range of creams with varying protections. The texture is light weight and doesn’t leave a grimy or greasy after-feel.
For best results, Because of the water-resistant properties, Coola tends to stick well on the body even if you are sweating. Some of the other Coola sunscreens have a bit of a tint added to their formulas, but the skin absorbs it and leaves you with a matte finish.
Most skin tones will not reflect the tint at all. The fragrance is delightful, but if you want unscented, Coola accommodates that request as well. Coola should be reapplied every 2 hours.
An added bonus is that when the canister is empty, it is completely recyclable. Coola has taken several specific actions to make sure that it has a clean product from start to finish which is admirable.
Cool organic mineral sunscreen spray

The Coola organic mineral sunscreen spray is a mineral based sun protection formula that you can spray onto your skin. It’s easy to think that all you need to do is spray and start enjoying the sunny day, but be sure to rub in the sunscreen evenly into your skin because mineral sun blocks are thicker and you have to spread it evenly so it can be absorbed and provide protection.
If you are looking for sunscreen that provides daily protection with a good broad spectrum SPF 30 rating this is a good choice as it’s easy to apply and is unscented.
Supergoop Sunscreen Review
Supergoop shares a lot of the same characteristics of Coola, however, one of its main features is that it not only protects the skin from UVA and UVP rays, it goes a step further and provides a barrier against IRA, blue light and Pollutions.
Let’s take a look at why that’s good for your skin.
IRA – IRA are infrared rays coming from sunlight. These rays are powerful and can reach deeper into the layers of your skin, producing the warm sensation you feel when exposed to sunlight. Over time these rays can be just as damaging as UVA and UVB rays which is why protection from them is becoming more widespread in sun protection products.
Blue Light – The Huff post recently considered whether you should be protecting your skin from blue light. Blue light shines onto our skin from computers, phone screens and other devices and can make it more difficult for us to fall asleep. On the other hand it does have some qualities that can help you fight against cancer and blue light has mood boosting properties. It can also increase ageing. In my opinion I don’t think blue light protection is important as it has a number of positive and negative effects, maybe they will balance out.
Pollution – Pollution has negative effects on our breathing and our skin. Pollutants are particles in the air that get into or lungs or break down our skins collagen. Stopping these particles is possible and supergoop reduce your exposure to them with a sunscreen formula that sits on top of your skin creating a protective barrier.
Supergoop Zincscreen review

Supergoop zincscreen is the brands mineral face lotion. Supergoop use Zinc oxide to filter UV rays with a broad sun protection factor of 40. Zinc is used often in face lotions with sun protection, but can often create those unwanted white lines, which is why in this product Supergoop have created a light tint to try and reduce this happening. I found application if mostly transparent if you are careful and blend it onto the surface of your skin evenly.
Alongside zinc, the zincscreen also add some nourishing coconut fruit extract, winter cherry and blueberry extract into this tasty formula, but don’t expect to smell any scent as they are minimal amounts on the ingredients list.
On application the scent is faint and the formula can be applied to most skin types without irritation. Applying this creamy formula onto your skin feels nice and it disappears quickly, just not as quickly as the unseen sunscreen I’m going to review next. If you prefer mineral based sunscreens that are less oily and you enjoy Supergoops vision for exciting sun and skin care products, you’ll enjoy wearing this sunscreen.
Supergoop unseen sunscreen review

This is a broad spectrum SPF 40 sunscreen that is a game changing sunscreen because of how easily it disappears into your skin and protects your skin without any white cast or flashback. It felt a bit greasy and it has a strange texture on application, but it doesn’t contain those nasty greasy oils and I love how the unseen sunscreen looks on your skin, with a very light dewy appearance.
If invisibility and no white cast or flashback is important for you then choose the unseen sunscreen that also defends against blue light, UVA , UVB and IRA rays. Even though this is a factor 40 sunscreen the additional ray protections and unseen appearance make this an appealing choice, if you can deal with how it feels on your fingers.
Comparing supergoop and coola
Coola provides more spray-on application sunscreens while Supergoop focus on their rub-on balm. Supergoop offers roll-ons and sprays as well along with a host of other applications. Supergoop sun screans don’t have the same delicious fragrance that Coola offers but there are coola sunscreens you can buy unscented as well and they can often be applied under your waterproof foundation.
Supergoop has dual use as a skincare agent and does not provide just one SPF proof because every skin type is unique. They offer over 40 kinds of SPF protection depending on the type of skin that you have. Coola don’t have as wide a range of different protections and don’t have blue light and IRA protection, instead they focus on a clean product which is a pleasure to apply on your skin and does what is says on the package as best as possible.
Supergoop is comprised of clean ingredients meaning no Octinoxate, Oxybenzone or Parabens and likewise Coola also believe in clean beauty.
Supergoop has a special line for kids. One of the best features of Supergoop is that they create a mineral foundation that locks in as a layer of protection and doesn’t mess with your makeup leaving your skin with a glow with fewer applications needed. It has a light-weight feel and doesn’t leave your skin looking oily.
Supergoop is absorbed easily by the skin so you hardly know that you have any sunscreen on at all. Coola don’t offer a sunscreen that is as invisible at Supergoops, but their lotions and sprays blend in very well and they have the additional benefit of offering mineral protection.
Cost Differences between Coola Vs. Supergoop
Supergoop tends to be a bit more expensive than Coola and that could be attributed to the dual purposes of skincare and the added protection it provides. The cost will depend greatly on the amount of formula that you apply. Coola advises reapplication every 2 hours while Supergoop doesn’t advise the same.
Supergoop also advises that a 1/4 teaspoon is enough to apply to the whole body while, when spraying on one of Coola’s sprays may make you go through the bottle a bit faster than a tub of cream from Supergoop.
The fewer applications that you will need with Supergoop can also balance out the value for money and price comparison of both brands products.
There are many different creams in each brands sun cream collections and different formulas also differ a lot from each other, with lighter formulas and thick creams requiring different amounts of formula to protect the same area of skin from the sun
Which is better coola or supergoop
Both brands offer a wide range of different high quality and high factor sun protection creams. The most obvious difference between Coola and Supergoop is that Supergoop have a wide range of sunscreens protecting from UVA, Pollutants, IRA and blue light protection whereas Coola focus more on high quality organic mineral sun creams and sprays.
Supergoop use a lot more science in their formulas whereas Coola use organic ingredients and embody the Californian beach lifestyle. Choosing between the two brands and deciding which is better really depends on what kind of sunscreen you are looking for.
If you are looking for the ultimate high factor protection with blue light, IRA and extra skin protections then go for Supergoop, but if you are looking for a great sunscreen that is easy to apply, is organic and uses mineral protection I’d choose Coola.
