When being asked to decide between two iconic high fashion brands such as Prada and Louis Vuitton, the decision is a hard one to make. Not only do both brands specialise in luxury products but their names carry with them such high fashion status. Both Louis Vuitton and Prada’s range of luxury products are durable and long lasting.
I’m going to introduce some of the fashion items each brand offers and make some comparisons between them so you can try to find what makes each brand unique and maybe even find the perfect accessory for your next shopping haul.
Both Prada and LV have created a lot of collections of products including handbags, wallets, shoes, sunglasses, perfume and many more. What impresses me most is that all these different fashion items have the same high-level of quality that makes the decision of choosing between Prada vs Louis Vuitton difficult.
You’ll most likely love the quality both brands offer and decide on a favourite for each different fashion item and your direct personal preference. If I had to choose between the two brands my favourite choice would be Louis Vuitton simply because I love their colour schemes and iconic ‘LV’ design, It’s so sheik and classy. It’s a complimentary and flattering brand.

Prada tend to make around nine different types of bags. These include shoulder bags, mini bags, tote bags and many more styles. All these bags have their own unique style and alternate designs and colour options which can suit your different fashion needs. Personally, I’d say Prada focus on appealing to a wider audience than LV, with their focus on many different styles ranging from some very unique and bold designs to the latest in-season trends and a few timeless classic bags.
Louis Vuitton have only six different bag styles to offer, however LV’s range within the selected styles can exceed your expectations, going from different extreme colours to your average neutral tones but nearly always producing a timeless classic bag that you will treasure for a lifetime.
Prada Bags That I like
Here are some of my favourite Prada bags. Prada have some wacky, bold and artistic bag designs but my favourite style of Prada bag is much more simple and sophisticated and not the style of bag you would expect to find designed by Prada.

This bag really stood out to me as a shopper due its colour. I personally would usually only ever go for the black colour as it can be worn with most outfits. The shoulder bag design again fits my everyday needs and is practical, the size will most definitely accommodate everything I usually carry with me. I love the contrast in colours and the gold ‘Prada’ label really catches my eye.
The only down side in this design is how open it is, it does not come with a zip at the top of the bag to protect the contents within, which I like to have. The straps also may not be ideal as they look a little thin, my bags tend to be quite heavy and the durability of these straps doesn’t look like it would do me much justice for the long term.

My second favourite Prada bag would have to be this gorgeous cross body bag, mainly due to its style. Prada’s cross body bag would typically be used in the city and perhaps on nights out, due to the size, it is basically ideal to fit all your essentials without cramping your look. It can also turn into a clutch bag so you can remove the strap to fit your needs, a bag that is basically two in one!
I also really love the colour schemes on this bag, the gold ‘Prada’ sign really compliments the black fabric. Looking for dislikes with this bag is hard as it’s such an all rounder making it quite the competitor amongst luxury handbag lovers. The only one downfall I could find is that it is mainly an ‘events’ bag that you could only really use for the odd day out or special events and not everyday use. But this doesn’t matter, even having this sat in my bedroom on my special handbag shelf to look at makes me very happy.
My favourite Louis Vuitton Bags
Here are two absolutely stunningly beautiful Louis Vuitton bags that have timeless and iconic designs. The neverfull bag uses the classic damier ebene LV pattern and the Keepall eclipse bag has the hugely popular monogram pattern design.

Now, this Neverfull bag is the most iconic bag Louis Vuitton have to offer and I would say it is more iconic than any Prada bag. I would always go for this style of product; the size is ideal and the colour scheme LV patterns I feel really work so beautifully. The bright red interior gives it that classy yet sophisticated look, it’s an eye catcher to say the least.
One more great thing about this bag is the leather exterior meaning if you do get caught in the rain or happen to spill anything onto it you don’t have to worry about the marks as it would simply dry and wipe off. The only downside of this bag would be the openness of it, there is no zip to close off your contents meaning they are constantly on show and you know I like my belongings protected. If you have to choose any bag from Louis Vuitton or Prada this would be one of my top choices as the cowhide damier pattern is stunning and in my eyes will always be a timeless classic that will never not be fashionable and sophisticated.

My second choice of bag from Louis Vuitton would have to be the monogram eclipse . Although it might not be for your everyday use, it’s great for the overnight stay. This would be typically a bag I would take on holiday, I would most likely use this as hand luggage, its leather exterior means its more durable that your average fabric ones and the darker colour scheme really caught my eye.
The monogram eclipse has two different types of handling methods, you have the over the shoulder strap, but you also have the hand straps. Meaning you don’t specifically have to wear it one way, so it can match a few different styles depending on which straps works better with your outfit and which you prefer to wear. Prada V.S Louis Vuitton wallets
Prada and Louis Vuitton are the ultimate luxury fashion specialist competing at the pinnacle of the fashion industry and both create a wide variety of luxury wallets with their own unique styles. Their choice and style in wallets doesn’t sway too much from one another.
The different colours and branding can ultimately make the decision about which wallet you like best for you. Like I mentioned earlier it is down to personal preference on which style suits you and your needs and wants because they are all beautiful wallet designs.
The colour schemes that Prada and Louis Vuitton use are the biggest differences. Prada tend to go for the brighter more vibrant colours whereas Louis Vuitton tend to go for the subtle darker tones.
Prada Wallets I love
Here are two of my all time favourite Prada wallets for women. The Saffiano leather design in the first choice is my favourite from Prada but I also like the different style and modern twist on the second Prada wallet.

This Prada wallet is my first favourite, its small yet sleek design is a definite eye catcher. The wallet is made from the quality saffiano leather which makes it more durable and easier to clean.
The inside has two separate compartments, one with a zip and 12 different card slots, which I feel is super useful as it makes it easier to separate cards, cash and change.
I feel like this wallet will go with a variety of handbags too due to its colour and simplistic design. I like this style as its big enough to fit what I need but again not too big to make it impossible to use.

Moving onto my second choice, this wallet is like the other design but has a different style to it. They are the same size, which is good. This is a really good example of how Prada can add their own touch to it, their ‘Prada’ stamp is printed all over the wallet, not only making it eye catching but putting their design on show for everyone to see.
For me personally, I really like this wallet because its suitable for holding my everyday accessories and has a stylish modern look to it.
Louis Vuitton Wallets
You’ll see that the Louis Vuitton wallet designs are more timeless pieces and have the ultimate style when compared to Prada wallets which are beautiful but don’t quite have the ultimate luxury appeal that LV wallets have.

This is probably the most iconic wallet Louis Vuitton have created, with the damier pattern that has stood up to the test of time and will in my eyes forever be one of the most iconic patterns in luxury fashion.
I really like this Clemence wallet not only for the size and space within but the design on the exterior. Its contrasts of browns and signature ‘Louis Vuitton’ stamp is such a stylish design.
The LV Clemence wallet is made from leather which does make it durable and weatherproof. It has a zip to close the wallet which makes the contents have that extra protection, you wouldn’t have to worry about the wallet falling open. I personally don’t see any downfalls to this design and would say it’s an all-round perfect wallet.

I have chosen the LV monogram Zoe mini wallet as my second choice; I really love the small and cute design. The cowhide leather and pale pink rose colours I feel really complement each other and the size may not be my usual ‘go to’ but I thought it would be quite handy if I was only using a smaller handbag or if I didn’t have a lot to carry within my wallet.
I feel like it’s great for those not looking to use a lot of space. This wallet has not only got space for your change but also cards to as the flap buckle extends to open right out. Small and Intelligently designed with timeless feminine beauty.
Prada vs Louis Vuitton shoes
Prada and Louis Vuitton also specialise in shoes too. They both have a variety to choose from, ranging from trainers to sandals and heels. Their style can also vary along with their range of colours.
Prada often use their brand name on their footwear and have created some really experimental styles of trainer. Most of Louis Vuittons colours are quite subtle whereas Prada are often more vibrant, I suppose you could say it’s to attract the attention of all crowds and personalities.
I personally feel both brands have a shoe to accommodate all your different luxury show needs, which can make them very popular in the fashion world.

These are my favourite type of trainer from Prada, the low top style is something I’ve always gone for. The suede material also adds a different feature, I like how Prada have added their name onto the buckle too. The shiny sole is great because you don’t have to worry about going out in the rain as it is easy to clean.
I feel like the colours really complement each other; this shoe I feel can go with almost any outfit choice. The only negative comment I would have against this shoe is perhaps the suede, although looking nice to the eye, may not be that durable and might wear down dependant on what weather conditions it is exposed too.

When deciding on a Louis Vuitton shoe I found this decision hard, I like a lot of their shoes. This Panorama shoe particularly stood out to me because of its quirky colour and design. I feel like this would be the ideal shoe for the summer times. Its breezy and cool.
The pink band also adds a nice touch, me being quite girly, likes the idea of the brown and pink together. It’s a typical Louis Vuitton design, having their ‘LV’ brand on their and also using their iconic colours. This being a summer shoes I can’t comment on any negative sides to it, it’s the perfect sunny shoe.

After comparing both Prada and Louis Vuitton’s styles and products we can see they both create very high-quality luxury fashion items that suit a diversity of needs.
I simply love their colours, design and styles. Louis Vuitton for me personally comes out the strongest of the two brands with their timeless products, that use really good materials and patterns. Although a lot of their designs are based on the iconic ‘LV’ monograms, I just feel it really works and their damier canvas fabrics are also absolutely stunning.
Prada create some modern and unique designs using a lot of colour and bold features that often don’t have as wide an appeal as LV’s timeless classics, but they are very popular and Prada also create other on-trend designs to compliment their bold and brave creativity.
Prada and Louis Vuitton are both sophisticated high-quality well-known brands, they both have their beautiful designs and unique vision for moving the luxury fashion world forward.
If you have a strong personality and like to express it, or have an artistic vibe about your aura and style then Prada may be the brand that offer the unique fashion designs for you. If you prefer to wear high fashion designs or timeless pieces that will last a lifetime then you’ll most likely find that perfect feminine once in a life time sophisticated design with a LV bag, accessory or wallet.
